It was a great weekend of rock as “Tampa” Earl paid tribute to a legendary rock band on “Rockin’ in the USA” and rolled out the latest and greatest of new music on “Crackin’ the Seal” at the midpoint of January!
On “Rockin’ in the USA,” “Tampa” Earl headed to the Midwest for one of the legendary bands in rock history, REO Speedwagon. Did you know that the band had THREE different vocalists in just its first few years of existence? Learn about that and much more as you jam to some of the greatest hits from REO including “Ridin’ the Storm Out” (the original AND the remake!) and “Roll with the Changes!”
On “Crackin’ the Seal,” the Swedish band Amaranthe got some love as we rolled out their brand new song “PvP.” We also heard from Conquer Divide and their cover of “Bad Habits” and Code Orange hit us with “Out for Blood.” In the New Artist Spotlight, such up and comers as INFLUEN5, Ardenite, Rival Gods, Blacklist Union, The Suicide Notes, Lammping, Affection and DYMYTRY.
It’s two hours of rock and roll enjoyment…come on in and listen!
Welcome to the New Year (OK, a bit belated, but you get the point!)!
The first “Rockin’ in the USA” broadcast for 2022 featured a look at New Year’s Resoultions. Did you know that only EIGHT PERCENT of New Year’s resoultions are kept? And what do people make New Year’s resoultions about? We’ll get into music from George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Oasis, and Jimmy Buffett as we examine the things that people may resolve to change!
On “Crackin’ the Seal,” rock and roll raconteur Jack White was featured, along with new music from Jelly Roll and Rise Against. In the New Artist Spotlight, we brought out the latest music from newcomers like The Heavy North, Crossbones’ Creed, Rabid Hood, Mad Wet Sea, Those Made Broken, A Ritual Spirit, and 1945.
If you missed it the first time around, here’s your chance to catch up with the first new broadcasts of “Rockin’ in the USA” and “Crackin’ the Seal” on Real Rock Radio for 2022! Enjoy and mahalo!
On September 26, “Tampa” Earl hit the airwaves of Real Rock Radio, taking fans into the Wayback Machine to remember the history of Farm Aid on “Rockin’ in the U. S. A.” The 36th edition of the “fundraiser for the farmers” was held the day before but, if organizers John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Willie Nelson had gotten their way, it would have been a “one off” show! Earl discusses that and more in an hour of music from Farm Aid.
“Crackin’ the Seal” counted down the September rankings for the Real Rock Radio Warriors, the best of new rock from the Americas, while the New Artist Spotlight featured indie bands like Twelve Years Today, Kamenar, Concrete Kingdoms, Nocturne Wolf, The Black Skeleton, Ancient Settlers and Rivers of Nihil.
It was a great show and it only gets better when you hear it again! Tune in NOW!
